Silver Dime Values
The first dimes produced in 1796 were commissioned through the Coinage act of 1792 and would soon become known as the Draped Bust dime. The progression of the markings on the dimes over the next centuries would represent many changes in the American culture.
In 1837 the composition of the dime saw an increase of silver to 90% and this continued until 1966. We find that silver dimes continue to be some of the most asked for and easiest to sell among coin collecting enthusiasts and precious metals investors due largely in part to their high silver content.
